How to Volunteer

About 60,000 donated items are processed in our warehouse each year! This requires around 1,500 volunteer hours to process donations and pack 6,000 bags per year. Sign up to volunteer by yourself, with a group of up to 15 family members, friends or co-workers to help us sort our donations. This is the perfect event for a group service project!

As stated above, we pack ~6,000 bags per year! When fulfilling orders, you will be shopping our warehouse to fill bags with items as ordered by families.
Please Note: Ability to lift 15lb totes is required.

We are always looking for delivery folks to pick up order bags (when notified) and arrange meetings at areas around Indianapolis to drop-off orders. We currently have 10 locations and are always looking to add more!

This can include, but isn’t limited to:
Warehouse work days
Season Switch - trading our stock totes and bags for the current season (larger groups needed (2) times a year)
Shoppers - purchase additional needed items with funds we’ve collect.
Booth Workers - represent Lambswear at community events
NOTE: Let us know if you have physical restrictions so we can assign lighter work or provide a seated task.
We also ask that all volunteers be 10 years or older and all children to have adult supervision present.
Qualifications
Lambswear welcomes solo volunteers, or groups of up to 15 individuals. Minors should be at least 10 years old to serve, and must be accompanied by an adult. Shifts last 1-2 hours on average.
Volunteers should be able to lift at least 15lbs, and be comfortable kneeling and bending over for short periods of time. Please let us know of any physical restrictions so we can properly assign tasks.
Tasks may include: packing clothing bag orders for our families’ sorting donated items into place; moving items from one place to another; matching and sizing donated shoes; hanging jackets and coats
All volunteers will be asked to sign a waiver when you arrive that will be valid for one year
Please note: Our warehouse is not A.D.A. Compliant.
You may bring donations with you if you like. Our needs include:
Gently-used clothing, sizes NB to 14/16 youth; gently-used shoes, sizes 4Toddler to 9Adult; new socks all sizes, and new underwear, sizes 2Toddler to 14/16 Youth.
You are welcome to photograph your group and post to social media with permission of all participants.
